within the forrest plaza complex, ando has created a sequence of internal and external spaces filled with light and greenery. the building is located behind the omotesando hills shopping center in the harajuku district. the exterior walls are all made out of reinforced concrete. the geometrically composed spaces of concrete modules that describe a grid give the building elegance and beauty especially thanks to the light and shadow effects. the exterior might seem inorganic at first glance, but as people live there and greenery grows, it begins to radiate a carefree life-force.
